Meet Our Attorneys

Jennifer Anukem: Managing Partner

Raised in Baltimore Maryland, Ms. Anukem holds a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh (2007) and received her Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School (2010). Ms. Anukem practices in the areas of business, estate planning, personal injury, and family law. She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Prince George’s County Bar Association and the Montgomery County Bar Association. In 2014, Ms. Anukem was selected as a Rising Star by the Super Lawyers magazine for her accomplishments in family law. In addition, she was selected as a “Top 10 Attorney Under 40” by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys. She is admitted to appear before all state courts in Maryland and in the District of Columbia.

 

Michael Troy: Partner

Born and raised in Connecticut, Michael has been practicing in the District of Columbia and Maryland for over 20 years. Michael holds a Juris Doctor cum laude from the American University Washington College of Law (1997), where he served as an Articles Editor on the Editorial Board of The American University Law Review. He was a Dean’s Fellow for Associate Dean and Professor Jamin Raskin, a Judicial Intern for the Honorable Charles R. Richey in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, a Legal Intern for the United States Attorney’s Office of the District of Columbia, as well as a Legal Intern for the District of Columbia Office of Corporation Counsel. Michael also earned his LL.M. in Securities and Financial Regulation from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2001, where he wrote his Master’s Thesis on insider trading. After graduating law school, Michael served as law clerk to the Honorable Judge John H. Bayly of the District of Columbia Superior Court from 1997-1998, clerking for Judge Bayly who was hearing criminal matters. After clerking for Judge Bayly and while earning his LL.M. at Georgetown, Michael served as an Attorney-Advisor in the Securities and Exchange Commission’s Office of Administrative Law Judges from 1998-2000. Michael is admitted to appear before all state courts in Maryland and in the District of Columbia.

 

Douglas Cohn: Of Counsel

Born in Wantagh, New York, Mr. Cohn holds a Bachelors of Science from The University of Maryland (1980) and a Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School (1984). Mr. Cohn served as a family law judge in the Northwest Kingdom of Vermont from 1998 to 2004. Mr. Cohn practices in the areas of complex family litigation and divorce mediation. He is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, Montgomery County Bar Association, and the Collaborative Dispute Resolution Professionals. He is admitted to appear before all state and federal courts in Maryland and in the District of Columbia.

 

Jeremy Doernberger: Associate

Born in Connecticut, Mr. Doernberger received a Bachelor of Arts from Williams College (2008) and a Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School (2011). He has practiced in Massachusetts, the District of Columbia, and Maryland in the areas of criminal defense, family law, and landlord tenant law. Mr. Doernberger is admitted to practice law in North Carolina, Massachusetts, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.

 

Afua Ofosu: Associate

Born in Washington, D.C. Ms. Ofosu holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Howard University (2010) and a Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law (2013). Ms. Ofosu practices in the areas of family law and estate planning. She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Prince George’s County Bar Association and the Montgomery County Bar Association. She is admitted to appear before all state courts in Maryland.

 

Sofia Gall: Associate

Raised in Potomac, Maryland, Ms. Gall holds a Bachelor of Arts from Swarthmore College (2009) and received her Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School (2016). She is admitted to practice in Maryland and is pending admission in the District of Columbia. Ms. Gall is a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association, Maryland State Bar Association, and American Bar Association.
