Jennifer Anukem: Managing Partner

Raised in Baltimore Maryland, Ms. Anukem holds a Bachelor of Arts from the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh (2007) and received her Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School (2010). Ms. Anukem practices in the areas of business, estate planning, personal injury and family law. She is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association, the Prince George’s County Bar Association and the Montgomery County Bar Association. In 2014, Ms. Anukem was selected as a Rising Star by the Super Lawyers magazine for her accomplishments in family law. In addition, she was selected as a “Top 10 Attorney Under 40″ by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys. She is admitted to appear before all state courts in Maryland and in the District of Columbia.

 

Douglas Cohn: Of Counsel

Born in Wantagh, New York, Mr. Cohn holds a Bachelors of Science from The University of Maryland (1980) and a Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School (1984). Mr. Cohn served as a family law judge in the Northwest Kingdom of Vermont from 1998 to 2004. Mr. Cohn practices in the areas of complex family litigation and divorce mediation. He is a member of the Maryland state Bar Association, Montgomery County Bar Association and the Collaborative Dispute Resolution Professionals. He is admitted to appear before all state and federal courts in Maryland and in the District of Columbia.

 

Sarah Carlin: Associate

Born in Springfield, Oregon, Ms. Carlin holds a Bachelor of Arts from Reed College (2006) and received her Juris Doctor from Washington College of Law at American University (2010). Ms. Carlin practices in the areas of immigration, employment, and tort law. She is a member of the Prince George’s County Bar Association and the Montgomery County Bar Association. She is admitted to appear before all state courts in Maryland.

 

Matt Bechak: Associate

Originally from Pittsburgh, Mr. Bechak attended The George Washington University where he graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in political science in 2001. He resided in Washington DC and New York where he worked on behalf of a wide array of Fortune 500 companies and national political clients as a strategy and research consultant. He returned to Pittsburgh for law school where he graduated from Duquesne University (2007). Mr. Bechak has now settled back in the DC area where he practices in the areas of criminal defense, business and landlord tenant law. Mr. Bechak is admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia.

 

Pawnee Davis: Associate

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area in California, Ms. Davis earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in government from California State University, Sacramento (1999). After graduating she relocated with her family to Savannah, Georgia where she earned a Master of Arts degree in public administration, summa cum laude, from Savannah State University (2001). She then attended the University of Pittsburgh and earned a Juris Doctor degree in law (2004). Upon graduating from law school she moved to Washington, DC. Ms. Davis handles family law, civil litigation, and traffic matters. She is admitted to practice in all state courts in Maryland and in the District of Columbia.

 

Matthew Brawner: Associate

Born in Washington D.C., Mr. Brawner holds a Bachelors of Science from The University of North Carolina (2006) and a Juris Doctor from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law (2009). Mr. Brawner practices in the areas of landlord tenant law, personal injury and bankruptcy. He is a member of the Washington D.C. Bar Association, Bankruptcy Bar Association of Washington D.C. He is admitted to appear before all state courts in North Carolina and in the District of Columbia.
